The other part of the game is the Story mode. Maintaining a story is a daunting task for a fighting game. Most quality stories don't have the protagonist traveling around fighting one person at a time in a best two out of three bout. In fact I can't think of a single good story like that. Tournament Fighters raises the bar for fighting game stories by not only having its story make absolutely no sense, but also by having occurrences of Engrish which confuses me because I'm pretty sure the game was made in America.

Looks like a new player is in town and he wants to get revenge on the Turtles for driving Shredder away from the city. This explains why Shredder here is Cyber Shredder; he was obviously driven away through the internet which made him Cyber or something. I don't know, the more plausible reasoning behind Cyber Shredder is that some guy fucked up the coloring and it was easier to add the word Cyber then to change the color. This new guy though, he is one cold hearted bastard.

The Turtles are just hanging out on the couch when an arrow is shot into the wall. It sticks into the wall even though the wall is made out of concrete so it should be nearly impossible for the arrow to stick in there.

Shit they've got their friends. Leonardo ponders who the Shredder Elite is, but does not go after and question whoever shot that arrow. Instead they do the only thing that makes sense.

They go to the museum and attack the person inside.

Chrome Dome is just sort of hanging out in a museum and assumes that the turtles have come to join him. I assume he doesn't want to know if they wish to join the Shredder Elite, but rather if they wish to join him and the Nutrinos in hanging out in the museum.

Raphael hates modern art and decides to beat him up. Poor Chrome Dome he only wants friends and is instead sent to the scrap heap.
