Issue of the Week: The Craig Love Triangle (II)
There's, like, three different plot lines in this episode, but they all take place over the same Friday night, so I'm going to go through them one by one. Putting them slightly out of order will make the episode seem like Pulp Fiction, but with a little less sodomy.
A Plot: Marco Likes Spinner
Jimmy has invited Spinner and Marco to his mansion over the night so they can study for a big test. Yup, that entire building is Jimmy's house. It's so massive because Jimmy is rich.
Spinner is still uncomfortable about Marco's homosexuality, suspecting Marco has a "man crush" for him. Jimmy doesn't care and puts a porno on the TV. Everyone is aroused.
Things are going along just dandy and Spinner hasn't had to worry too much about Marco's advances, until Spinner starts choking on some spray cheese. Marco knows the Heimlich and tries to help Spinner, but Spinner sure as hell doesn't want to be in that position with Marco, so Marco has to chase Spinner around the room while Spinner is choking. Marco catches Spinner and Heimlichs the cheese out. Spinner is humiliated to be made the catcher.
We get a shot of the TV showing a movie in which two guys are karate fighting and then one man jumps out of a castle. This must be the porno the guys were watching. We at Boycott the Caf call it "Escape from the Castle" and it must be the sexiest porno ever. "You had sex with the princess! I will fight you!" "Oh no, I better escape from the castle. Aayeeee!"
Moving on...
B Plot: Emma Likes Chris
That same night, Emma and Manny are getting dolled up to go to a rave so Emma can meet Chris, the new black kid who can't talk right. Sean and Emma are still on the skids after he left her for the Candy Bandits, and Emma has taken a liking Chris. Manny helps her learn to act like a slut by putting Emma in a hot pink skirt. That's a bootylicious makeover that takes her right out of planet White Dork. Manny dresses in her usual tight pants and thong.
The girls enter the rave. This isn't just any rave, it's a rave full of middle schoolers. It's a middle school rave. And the music is coming right out of Manny's thong.
Emma ends up on stage where Chris is DJing. Things are going cool between them until another girl shows up. Chris introduces her "Tis es, Mylanta, my girfend." Yeah, her name is Mylanta, and she must be Chris' girlfriend. That's what I can gather from Chris, because Chris talks like a retard and is hard to understand. Everything he says is like "Shooba dooba dobba, dooba." Like Mushmouth from Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. I hate Chris.
Emma runs off, not wanting to make any moves on Chris after finding out he has a girfend. But Manny knows a thing or two about ruining a relationship, so she tells Emma to go back to him once Chris and Mylanta break up, which just happened. Good timing.
And that brings us to...
C Plot: Manny Likes Craig (to Fuck Her Hard)
Craig is spending his Friday night ruining Joey and his girlfriend's chances for sex. Joey suggests that Craig leave so he can get his freak on, and Craig says he'll go to Jimmy's.
Craig shows up at the rave. This is odd because he said he was going to Jimmy's. I assume the rave must be going on in Jimmy's basement. Jimmy's mansion is so big he can regularly host middle school raves in his basement.
Since Ashley is away, Manny makes her move on Craig. The two dance all bump and grind and shit, and Manny's ass grinding gets Craig really horny. He is about to unleash the beast within, so the two take for somewhere private.
Emma can't find Manny at the rave, so she comes home alone. And is she ever surprised to see Craig and Manny going at it on her bed. In the words of Stephanie from Full House, "How rude!" Get your own place, Craig and Manny. Emma doesn't want to have to sleep in your love stains. I don't know why they came back to Emma's house anyway. That's really weird.
Emma is mad at Manny for cheating with Craig and having sex on her bed. The girls get into an argument, basically like the one at the end of "U Got the Look" which I thought broke up their friendship already. Oh well. That's too bad for Emma, because now she lost her only friend again, while Manny can just have sex to get new friends, again. Don't worry, though, it'll be, like, five more episodes until they are back to being friends.
And that's that. Three different plotlines, that could still be understood against all odds.
Rating: ATwo of the three plots were awesome (Can you guess the lame one? Hint: it had Emma and Chris) and you can't deny most of this episode is sweet and should be part of any true Degrassi fan's top 50 episode list. Spinner trying to ward off Marco's advances was sweet as well.
Intensity Level: 99% Intense
Craig and Manny making out in Emma's room was nuts. They may have had sex again,
too. But since that is unconfirmed, the intensity of this episode is just shy of
being 100% INTENSE.

Final Thoughts:
This episode presents more proof that Marco is not really gay, but he just has a crush on Spinner.
Marco does not realize it is perfectly natural for all straight men to
want to have sex with Spinner, so Marco just assumes he is gay. This was first
apparent in season 2, when Marco first suspected he was gay after seeing Spinner
shirtless, then tonight we have him trying to have sex with Spinner. Finally,
Marco wants to date Dylan because he dresses a lot like Spinner. Case closed.
