"Turned Out" Part 2

< -Back to Part 1

Degrassi The Next Generation episode eighty eight

JT meets up with Jay in a dark alley and they go to the drug dealer. JT gets $800 bucks for a handful of pills. Holy shit. That's awesome. I should get into drug dealing. It would pay way better than working at gas stations. I'm going to open a pharmacy just so I can get my hands on all those drugs then sell them on the street for big bucks.

JT now has enough for a down payment on the apartment. Toby's there, just hanging around. Get your own plots Toby.

Meanwhile, Mr. Simpson is having a midlife crisis. Things are hard when you have a step daughter and baby to raise. Plus you have Manny living there now shaking her skanky, freeloading ass all day long.

Simpson is jealous of how good Joey has it. Joey is cruising around in a convertible with his new girlfriend. What Simpson doesn't realize is that Joey almost lost his house last year, and he only has this girlfriend because he gave her a car for free.

Joey's a loser.

Here's Spinner's one scene. It's cool Jay and him are still friends even after Spinner got them expelled from school. Jay is cool with being a bum all his life. Plus, unlike everyone else at Degrassi, he's smart enough to know you don't abandon Spinner.

JT and Liberty finally tell Liberty's parents the happy news and Liberty's parents are mad as hell. The man who plays Liberty's dad really hams up his role here. It's funny to watch him over act so much. I think he had dreams of performing Shakespeare in Canada's most prestigious stage theaters, and is disappointed he has to settle for a bit part on Degrassi.

Who's the dude with the motorcycle? It's Mr. Simpson, trying to do something cool to get over being so old and lame. He is borrowing the bike from Joey's cool friend, the Fonz, and wants to buy it. The thing is, his wife and Emma's mom (whatever the hell her name is) won't let him purchase the motorcycle, because Emma's mom is a controlling bitch who wants to make life miserable for all men. Why did Mr. Simpson even marry her? Did he decide he would rather not be the man of the house?

I'd hate to see Mr. Simpson and Emma's mom have sex. I'd imagine it involve Emma's mom on top, thrusting onto Simpson and snarling and punching him while Simpson cries.

Ms. Hotsause likes motorcycles too. Now there is some attraction brewing between Simpson and Hotsause. I like where this is going, since an affair would be sweet. Archie has yet to have an interesting plotline, and they've changed Ms. Hotsause for the better, making her so she is just extremely bitter about being divorced.

Liberty has found out JT got the money for the apartment by selling drugs, so she starts beating him with a backpack. Now, the drug dealer gave JT some extra money for the apartment, so JT either needs to pay him back or steal more drugs or be killed.

JT goes to Toby to get some money. Toby is a Jew, so he's loaded. JT threatens Toby, but Toby just laughs it off and refuses to hand over any of his gold.

Now this drug dealer is the most angry drug dealer in the world. JT hasn't come up with the drugs so Crazy Fucking Drug Dealer slams JT against his car and chokes the shit out of him. What kind of balls does this drug dealer have to beat up a kid in the middle of a suburb in the broad daylight while yelling "I want my DRUGS!" How do you think that will look to all the people who are home right now?

JT steals some more pills. This is probably going to cost him his job, because old man pharmacist notices his illegal drugs are missing. When JT delivers the pills, Crazy Fucking Drug Dealer thanks JT by kicking his ass.

I don't understand this party at the ravine. It looks like it is taking place in Degrassi's backyard. I understand the ravine is close to school, but I didn't image is was right next door to the school. They throw drunken parties right behind Degrassi? That's like if I sucked someone's dick in my high school's football field.

Anyway, JT gets into the party mood because Jay ordered him to. JT does this by ingesting a bunch of the illegal pills. Way to go Ashley.

JT acts all crazy and starts to trip out. Then he dies.

He's ok though, Jay and the doctors brought him back to life. In the hospital, Liberty comes by and tells JT she is putting the baby up for adoption, because they won't be able to manage raising a baby. JT then cries like a little girl.

By the way, Mr. Simpson buys the motorcycle so he can have something to bone Ms. Hotsause. Joey is totally into this.

Rating: F for Part 1, A+ for Part 2
Usually I rate two part episodes the same, but Part 1 and 2 were as different as night and day. Part 1 had too much Liberty, which always sucks. But then they did a 180, and brought in Jay and dropped Liberty almost entirely. Cool. I have to applaud the whole Jay turns JT into a drug dealer story.

One cool thing happened while I was watching the video on my computer. The girl who encodes these episodes for the internet messed up capturing the audio, so during a Peter and Emma conversation, you can actually hear her family shouting at her. A lot internet fans were mad at her, but I was entertained. I much prefer random yelling to listening to Emma. It's just too bad the girl who encodes these lives in such an angry house and her family hates her.

Intensity Level: 97% Intense
The whole drug dealing thing was quite intense. I think just Jay and JT hanging out is intense, in itself. I hope they star in more episodes together.

Final Thoughts:
Why did JT and Liberty not try to go onto student welfare or some other government aid? If Sean can get money to live on his own I would think those two could get some damn help to raise a child.

I should also mention that JT tired to commit suicide apparently by taking those pills. I guess. Anyway, this is good news, because the rumor on the street was that Spinner would go to the ravine to kills himself. I am glad to know that won't happen. Not that it could. Spinner can't die. Not even by his own hand.
