Wow! It's Jimmy out there on the b-ball court. What's going on?

Turns out Jimmy was daydreaming about being able to walk. The girls basketball team is pissed because he is supposed to be coaching them right now. They throw a ball at him and leave. The girls just learned a lesson they'll need to remember: no one cares about women's basketball.

Meanwhile, Jimmy's parents come by to give him a letter. Jimmy has been accepted into a pre-law program at some college. I think it's the one that Marco and El lie go to. No one else in their former high school class is enrolled in college. Degrassi is a very poor school in that regard.

Jimmy is at physical therapy, getting some love from Gimp Girl when he stops to stare at a person walking. Jimmy does that a lot because he's pretty jealous of walking, but this guy used to be in a wheelchair. Turns out he was injected with stem cells in the Netherlands, allowing him to walk again. Gimp Girl is preparing to go to Europe to get stem cells too. Jimmy wants in.

Since stem cells are illegal in Canada (what country are we talking about again?) Jimmy's dad will not allow him to access his trust fund money to get it done. Jimmy wants to go get the procedure along with Gimp Girl, but Jimmy's dad says he shouldn't let a woman manipulate and give him false hopes. Jimmy's dad hates his wife.

Jimmy is vaklempt.

Meanwhile, Peter finds that Webster and Salve have formed a band. But there are only two of them and they both play guitar. I think they have a band in the sense that they play Guitar Hero together. Peter wants to join because he had no friends. Peter would probably have some friends if he didn't try to blackmail/throw in jail/feel up every person he meets. Darcy is only with him because she is a retard.

Webster and Salve totally go for having Peter in the band. Because Peter has seen girl's boobies several times, he is like a god to those two. Peter will sing so they just need a drummer. Peter knows who to go for: Spinner, as he used to drum for Downtown Sasquatch. Peter shouldn't know anything about that because he did not exist when Spinner was in that band. I guess post-Spinner Downtown Sasquatch was so bad that he'd always hear people complain about how it used to not suck when they had their old drummer.

Peter spies Spinner high fiving a random guy to signify that Spinner is cool while those three drool. Like we need anything to signify that Spinner is cool.

Peter, Webster and Salve audition for Spinner. That's awesome, because usually when you need one more member for a band, you have that person audition for the members already in. But Spinner just laughs at how dorky their song is. It's not a good song, it's not even an original song. If they tried to release it, whoever owns the rights to "Teen Angel" is going to sue their asses.

Peter and the Dorks retool the band by making it more of a 70's punk band. Because none of them can play instruments or sing, 70's punk is the way for them to go. Spinner then decides to join, but only if the band is kept secret. Spinner does not want to be associated with a bunch of virgins, that's why he won't be my Myspace friend.

Jimmy goes to his dad's office late at night when he sees his dad--making out with his wife! I don't know why this a big shocker for Jimmy.

Oh, I guess that's wasn't Jimmy's mom. You can imagine why I'm confused, this is the first time we've see her. Jimmy's dad was actually getting rubbed by his secretary. He's how you can tell them apart: the secretary has straight hair while Jimmy's mom has that fuzzy African hair that is so much fun to touch.

Jimmy, feeling betrayed by his father, withdrawals his trust fund money so he can afford the stem cell surgery. That's one hell of trust fund Jimmy has there. He already withdrew money from it to fund that t-shirt store, and he still has enough left over to travel to Europe and pay for an experimental medical procedure. Jimmy's dad is mad about this and confronts him at the school. Everyone clears out of the way, I guess they think there is going to be a rumble. Jimmy reveals that he knows about the affair. That's when the father and son reach an agreement. Jimmy can go to Europe to get stem cells as long as he does not tell his mother about the affair.

Peter is watching a video on his Ipod. Two observations: One, he is looking directly at the screen. You need to do this when watching videos on a Ipod. If you look at it from an angle, you won't be able to see past the glare. Two, Peter is only using one earphone, and the other one is lying on the table and loud enough for Darcy and Jane to hear. Peter is going to go deaf in one ear.

They are watching a music video put on by the band of Spinner, Peter, Webster and Salve. The video shows them disguised with rabbit masks and hoodies. They are a Donnie Darko tribute band.

Rating: B+
This was a pretty good one. I would watch it again, which I would not say of many episodes from the past three years. The stem cell thing seemed completly unbelievable. Can stem cells really allow a paralyzed dude to walk again? I don't know. Not that Degrassi has ever cared about making sense before. I'm sure a big reason for this episode was to make a political point in favor of stem cell research in the half assed way Degrassi has always made political points. Still, I enjoyed the episode.

I should also mention this, because I neglected to in the review, but Jimmy and his father are time travelers from the future. I didn't bother to find a way to fit that into the review because I am tired of doing reviews.

Does It Go There? Sure
Affairs and stems cells and rabbit bands go there.

Who Should Get Kicked In The Face This Week? The Newbies
You know, I really don't hate Liberty as much as I used to. For real. It's just that there are so many other characters that have been added on lately that I hate more. And I can't even name them because I don't know most of their names. To hell with the lot of them!
