Brad LaPrue Welcome to my cartoons. I'm glad you stopped by. Enjoy the cartoons.

When I'm not drawing cartoons, I live in Kansas City (Kansas), with my wife, Ellen, and my stepson, Jake. I am a manager at a local Wendy's.

I used to have my site over at www.Tripod, but the pop-up ads began to hurt my creativity. Luckily, www.Dumbbaby decided to host me.

Some people have emailed me and said that they don't understand my comics. I guess you have to think abit to find my cartoons funny. So, I hope you can think and you think :) my comics are funny.

Updates

October 30 2006 - It has been one year since I last drew cartoons for the wwwDumbBaby. I had wanted to draw more but I lost my bookmark to this internet website when my stepson, Eric, stole my computer. Eric and I have a strained relationship and he was "acting out." I understand that when you have a non-traditional family, it is best to leave discipline of a step-child to the biological parent. So I asked my wife Ellen to handle Jake, but she refused. Ellen established long ago that I am not to tell her what to do, no matter how meekly I ask. Ellen also implied that I spend too much time on the computer anyway playing Teddy Factory on Yahoo games and it was partly responsible for my weight problem. She has a point there.

My computer at work at Wendy's has the internet but it is very slow and old. I couldn't find Dumb Baby for the longest time and my work computer takes an hour to load up and in the meantime I have to manage the restaurant and deal with angry customers who didn't get the right sized biggie meal. After a few months I find wwwDumbBaby on wwwGoogle and I sent an email to Billy Green but didn't get a reply for several more months. But now I have my account back and I can upload more cartoons. I am feeling great to be back in the game.

Cartoon #11 really makes me laugh. Cartoon #12 I think is more of an uplifting, everyday message, but I think will still make you chuckle.

October 1 2005 - Readers it has been a long time since I have given you new cartoons. I hope you haven't been worried that I was going to stop drawing. I apologize for worrying you. Things have been hectic at home. My wife Ellen has been yelling at me more and more lately. Sometimes she has kicked me out of the house for the night. I don't like it, but she does own the house, after all, so all I can do is spend the night at my office at Wendy's.

My real release comes from drawing cartoons. Of course I am too scared to show Ellen this site or my drawings, but one day I will make a career off of this, and things will get better.

At any rate enjoy Cartoon #10. Winter is coming soon, and I thought it would be good to get some humor from how animals (and people too!) prepare. Are you prepared for winter? I have plenty of antifreeze for the car Ellen lets me drive. Plus I spent all of last week caulking the house to keep in heat. So I am all set.

February 1 2005 - Readers, when Billy Green told me that my cartoon website was back on the internet, I stayed up all night and drew the following three cartoons. These are perhaps the funniest I have drawn so far.

Cartoon #7 show my distaste for President Bush. I still cannot get over how he stole the Florida from Al Gore. Al Gore is my favorite politician ever; he is really someone who brings hope to millions just with his smile. I sulked for along time when he announced he was not going to run for President again, even going so far as to cancel my planned family vacation to Wayne, Nebraska. Ellen and Jake didn't seem too disappointed with my decision, but that is because I am man of the household and make the big decisions. At least the ones that don't come to big financial decisions like buying a car or anything with money really. Ellen happens to make considerably more money than me, after all, and won't let me touch her checking account.

I also do not care for President Bush's stand against gay marriage also. I think that the gays should be able to marry whenever they want. I don't know any gays, myself, but I see them a lot on TV. And I have thought about what it would be like to be one, myself, quite often. I think that it would be nice.

Cartoon #8 really speaks for itself. I couldn't stop giggling when I finished drawing it. Cartoon #9 is a more adult humor. Not vulgar mind you, I want this to be a website the whole family can enjoy, the cartoon just deals with taxes. It's office humor like Dilbert. Also that dog just looks amusing.

July 20 2004 - Readers it has been a pleasant summer here in Kansas City (Kansas). To celebrate the summer, I have drawn this cartoon: Cartoon #6. I think it sums up this summer quite humorously.

In other news, I encourage you to stop by Wendy's and try our new 99 cent Crispy Chicken Nuggets. I wanted my stepson, Jake, to get a job this summer, so I hired him to take orders at Wendy's, but he had a few "incidents" with customers, shall we say, and I almost had to let him go. But firing your stepson is not an easy thing to do, and I wanted to give him a second chance. So, I promoted him to Assistant Manager, which I thought would be best, since I hope he will follow in my footsteps and manage the same Wendy's I do now, someday. I can't give him the restaurant when I die, because I do not own it; Mr. Jackson does. Mr. Jackson is an African-American, but I don't notice those kinds of things. Here at Wendy's, we celebrate diversity.

I am babbling. Unfortunately, when I hired my step-son as Assistant Manager, I had to break the news to my current Assistant Manager, Clark. Clark was, shall we say, less than pleased, even though I said I did not intend to lay off Clark, I only wanted to make him and my step-son Co-Assistant Managers. That way, I thought, everyone would be pleased. But Clark and I exchanged some words, and he quit. I was shocked, but all the better, since I didn't have the money in payroll to afford two Assistant Managers and I'm not allowed to hire two to begin with. Problem solved!

Since that time, Jake has been a competent Assistant Manager. There have been several "incidents" with both the customers and staff, but you have to expect that. I have eased the situation by taking on most of the responsibilities of Assistant Manger myself, and only have Jake come by when he feels "ready to work." He does not come by often. It's a lot of work for me, but my relationship with Jake has never been very warm and I think this opportunity will bring us closer together. My wife, Ellen, doesn't want to have any more children, so my time with Jake has to be special. At least the time when he biological father doesn't have custody of him.

March 14 2004 - Readers I am back in operation after leaving www.Tripod as my host and moving to www.Dumbbaby. If you were wondering why you could no longer see my cartoons for that while I was not on the www.internet, I am sorry. I haven't had time to upload up any new cartoons, but I think you will still enjoy the five from when I was online at www.Tripod.
